Litigation results:

* Medical malpractice - Spinal Cord Injury.  A 16 year old boy underwent back surgery to correct a deformity known as kyphosis (hunchback). During the surgery, as the physician was resecting a part of the boy's vertebra, the surgeon caused the surgical instrument to impact with the boy's spinal column. The injury resulted in temporary lower extremity paralysis, with partial recovery in a few weeks. However, the boy was left with bilateral lower extremity weakness, which impacts the way he can ambulate. The case settled just before jury selection and the boy received compensation in excess of one million dollars paid through a structured settlement.

* PRODUCT LIABILITY CLAIM - $202,500 SETTLEMENT.

* MEDICAL MALPRACTICE - Estate of John Doe vs. Hospital - claim settled for $850,000 before suit.

* Misdiagnosis of thyroid cancer in 35 year old woman. Settlement – $1.5 million dollars.

* Improper administration of glucose medication to infant for lengthy period of time resulting in cognitive impairment. Structured settlement with lifetime payout in excess of $14 million dollars.

* Administration of anti-coagulant to man who had just had back surgery resulting in bleeding from the incision site. This was then sutured closed causing pressure on the spine (Cauda Equina Syndrome) resulting in partial paralysis. Structured settlement with lifetime payout in excess of $4 million dollars. Additional funds were paid to the client’s wife for loss of consortium.

* Women killed by teenage drunken driver at an intersection. Full payment of tortfeasor’s policy for $100,000 and full payment of underinsured motorist policy of $650,000. Then I sued the Taste of Hartford, which was the event where the teen was provided alcohol even though he was underage. That case settled for an additional $250,000.

* Teenager ejected from SUV in a rollover accident. Structured settlement with lifetime payout in excess of $4 million dollars.
